Celina Jaitly has always shown support to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community in India and abroad. So now, she has been roped in the United Nations for their Free & Equal campaign.
In a special video titled The Welcome, the UN has shot its ‘first-ever Bollywood music video for gay rights’, featuring the Bollywood star and former Miss India. Fashion designer Anita Dongre has designed costumes for it.
Celina has not only danced and acted in the music video but has also sung for it. She is accompanied by what sounds like Neeraj Shridhar. Both of them sing a duet of B-town’s favourite classic melody Uthe sab ke qadam, dekho rum pum pum, kabhi aise geet gaya karo from the movie Baaton Baaton Mein.
The statement for the campaign says, ‘It’s a beautiful reminder that everyone should be warmly welcomed by family, no matter who they are or whom they love’. Check out the video below!
