So in honour of all the true friendships in the world here is a list of things that you can do to celebrate Friendship Day with your friends.
1.Friendship Day Sleepover Party
This is the best way to ring in this day dedicated to friends. Call all your crazy friends home, stock junk food like wafers, popcorn, burgers, colas, ice cream. Have a movie marathon with your favourite films. Play your favourite songs and groove to the beats. Stock up on wine, booze and your favourite liquor and party the night away.
2.Plan a get-together at your college or school
Most everlasting friendships are built in schools or colleges. Even though we grow into adults we still hold dear to the bonds made during these formative years. So get your old gang together at your college ‘adda’ or school bus stop and while away reminiscing your best years with old tomfoolery and funny incidents that made you burst into fits of laughter.
Since Friendship Day is celebrated on a Sunday, it is the perfect time to ring in the special day at some happy and carefree location where you can unwind with your friend. Enjoy the locales, gorge on delicious food and indulge in some adventure activities.
4.Treks or Adventure Sports
If you and your friend are the adventurous types then go on a trek or take up some adventure sports like parasailing, bungee jumping, river rafting or kayaking to celebrate Friendship Day.
5.Activities in town
Go for activities and events which are happening around town like maybe a book fair, story-telling session, playing games in an arcade, taking up cookery or baking session, joining an art class or a theatre workshop. The idea is to have fun together while doing things which are of common interest; this might bring back cool memories of school and college.
6.Bond during a match
Go for a cricket match or the sport that you love. Root for your team and yell your lungs out cheering the players and each other.
Take out that tent that is gathering dust and head out in your SUV and camp out in the wilderness. Pitch your own tent, catch your own fish, light your camp fire and sing old motley songs around the campfire while regaling each other with funny stories.
8.Plan a road trip
Gather your gang and go on a road trip. Nothing brings people closer than sharing a journey. Take cue from the movies and head out with your car with a tanker full, map and adventure in your heart on unknown roads.
