The final season of fantasy series Game of Thrones is set to release in April next year, which HBO had announced last month in a promotional video. Now it has released the first official teaser from the season, and from it we can gauge that it is going to be a battle of fire and ice. In the teaser, we can see the wolf and the dragon being engulfed by ice and the lion by fire, with both elements finally meeting up.
The clip, which was a little more than 40 seconds, started with the ice, a reference to the White Walkers, spreading on what looks like a map of Westeros, and as it progressed it began to engulf everything in its path, starting with the wolf, which stands for the Stark family. It is next seen engulfing a dragon, which in this case would refer to Daenerys Targaryen’s dragon.
While the ice consumes one side, fire is seen engulfing the other and spreading over a lion, which represents the Lannisters. In time, both elements meet, and the battle for supremacy begins. Check the teaser out below:
Game of Thrones, which is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, George RR Martin’s series of fantasy novels, is about a quest to claim the Iron Throne. It is known for the twists and turns, ruthless killing scenes, unexpected deaths all wrapped up with emotion and drama.
