After keeping suspense intact with a couple of teasers, HBO has finally revealed the first full-length trailer for Game of Thrones’ forthcoming seventh season. The trailer features newly crowned Cersei Lannister, mother of dragons Daenerys Targaryen and King in the North Jon Snow front and centre. The new trailer manages to cram a lot of information and secrets into less than two minutes but evokes more questions than answers them. These are the three forces that are head-to-head for an all-out war in Westeros, meanwhile the White Walkers appear to gather off-screen. The trailer starts with predestined gloom and strife with Cersei observing that King’a Landing is surrounded by “enemies to the East, enemies to the West, enemies to the South, and enemies to the North”. Standing on a giant map of Westeros she states emphatically, “Whatever stands in our way, we will defeat it.”

Cersei Lannister looks paranoid in the trailer because she believes that her kingdom is threatened and so is her throne from all directions. She also manages to alienate little brother Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) when she declares that she and Jaime are the only surviving Lannisters that count. With that words we get a glimpse of Tyrion Lannister walking at the edge of a cliff; the next scene showd three huge dragons fly across. While Cersei has her entire attention on guarding the Iron Throne in King’s Landing, her family seat of Casterly Rock is under threat probably by Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke). She is seen saying, “I was born to rule the seven kingdoms. And I will.” Game of Thrones Season 7: Block of ice melts to reveal premiere date (Watch trailer)

Littlefinger is seen espousing trouble once again where he is encouraging Sansa Stark to make something of her name since her father and her brother both are gone. The trailer ends with a voice declaring, “The Great War is here.”
