Game of Thrones star Lena Headey, who plays the role of Cersei Lannister took to Instagram to express her disappointment as she could not attend the New York premiere of GOT because of her illness. The 45-year-old actress shared a post explaining to her fans why she wasn’t going to be on the red carpet at the event at Radio City Music Hall with her co-stars. In the picture, she is seen covering half of her face with a scarf.
Sharing the post, she wrote, “Gutted. Heartbroken and fucked off, still doesn’t cover my disappointment at not being able to travel to NYC for our final prem tonight. I fucking hate being sick and the timing of this is a shit bag. But .. S8 is the tits and so are all my cast mates and crewmates and creators… so RIDE FORTH INTO THE NIGHT AND CREATE MAYHEM … Love you beauties.” (sic)
To her post, Emilia Clarke commented, “We love and miss you mamma. You’re here in spirit!” (sic)
Lena stars as villainous Cersei Lannister in the hit show, the manipulative and malevolent queen who has done everything in her power to maintain her grip on the Iron Throne.
The final season of fantasy series Game of Thrones is finally coming back on April 14, 2019. Taking to its official Twitter handle, the makers had revealed that the final season of the GOT will consist of six episodes and each episode will take the level of thrill and suspense a notch higher.
Created by David Benioff and DB Weiss, Game of Thrones premiered on HBO in the US on April 17, 2011, and its seventh season ended on August 27, 2017.
