Eid al-Adha or Bakra-Eid is one of the two Muslim holidays celebrated by followers every year worldwide. The significance of this observance is the animal sacrifice. For the occasion of Eid al-Adha 2017 falling on September 2, Muslims all across the globe are making grand preparations. One such unique sight captured in a video is going viral on the social media. Sacrificial goats in Pakistan have got lucky – they are taken by their masters to a unique beauty salon where they are given makeovers. Yes, goats are getting facial done ahead of the ‘Sacrifice Feast’ of Bakra-Eid 2017 celebrations.
In an exclusive coverage by Samaa TV of Pakistan, the viewers got to see inside a unique salon. What made this beauty parlour extraordinary is that it boasts of no regular customers but grooms animals. With Eid al-Adha celebrations in full swing, the salon in Pakistan neighbourhood has gone a step ahead to make goats look presentable before being sacrificed.
The owner of beauty salon grooming goats revealed what all services are provided to the animals. From snipping of the body hair to giving goats head massage and finally facial, they do it all. The enthusiastic female reporter in the video is also seen asking some hilarious ‘serious’ questions as how much do these cosmetic care services cost. The news report will make you go ROFL, and once again you cannot help muttering – It can happen only in Pakistan.
Eid al-Adha is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, according to the Islamic Lunar Calendar. The animal sacrifice (camel, goat, sheep, or ram depending on the region) is seen as a symbol of Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his only son as an act of obedience to God’s command. According to the mythology, before the sacrifice could take place, God intervenes and replaces the child with lamb and hence the tradition of animal sacrifice began on Bakra-Eid. We wish everyone celebrating the big Muslim festival, a Happy Eid al-Adha 2017.
