Google has removed the ‘view image’ option from its search results and. The search giant recently announced that the image search results will no longer show ‘view image’ tab. Even ‘Search By Image’ button is also removed. Google was forced to remove these buttons due to a legal settlement with Getty Images. Apart from this reason, Google has come up with the same in a bid to curb copyright issues. Many used to click on the button to view and save the image directly without jumping to a website that hosted the image.
Many netizens are not quite happy with the same as the new feature will allow users to click through the website to find the picture and in many websites, right click option is disabled as well. So many Google users will have a hard time to get specific picture but photographers and websites can rejoice as now users cannot steal their photos without credit. Many website owners hated this option as searchers bypassed their sites and the same didn’t let them to gain traffic. ‘They are designed to strike a balance between serving user needs and publisher concerns, both stakeholders we value,’ Google said.
Many enraged Google users took to social media to complain about the removal of the view image option. Some called it worst change in the history of mankind while others called it awful and user-unfriendly. “Google removing the ‘view image’ option is legitimately one of the workflow crippling things I’ve experienced in a while and is so user-hostile that either they’ll be forced to pull it back or an alternative will need to arrive,” one of the Twitter users tweeted.
