Bollywood industry is not that glamour which it seems from outside. The deeper you will step in, more pain and dirtiness you will find. Bollywood, as an industry has made life of hundreds but has broken the houses of thousands.

Here’s a recent example of an actor Savi Sidhu, who has worked in films like Patiala House, Gulaal, Black Friday to name a few and his story will break your heart. The actor recently shared his story in a 5-min video, shared by Film Companion where he can be seen working as a security guard at a building in Malad in Mumbai. He has taken up that job to support him and does 12 hours shift.

In the video, he started off by telling how exactly his journey started his acting courier. He said,“Anurag Kashyap mile struggle karte karte toh mujhe Paanch mei liya, unki jo pehli film thi release nahi hui. Uske baad unhone mujhe Black Friday mei liya, one of the main characters that is Commissioner Samra ka role kiya maine then unke sath maine Gulaal bhi kari. Maine Yash Raj, Subhash ji ke sath, Nikhil Advani ke sath Patiala House kari.

He further added, “My brother got a job in Air India so coming to Mumbai became easier. Fir jaise struggle hoti hai… maine shuri kari producers ko milna. Kaam ki kabhi problem nahi hui. Mujhe hi chhodna pada ki mai nahi kar pa raha hoon. You know… it was like kya mere liye wait kar raha hai… yaha jaise logo ko kaam milta nahi aur mere pas itna kaam hai ki mai kaam nahi kar pa raha. Meri financial problems bhi badh gayi, health problems bhi badh gayi toh kaam khatam ho gaya.

Savi Sidhu further explained why things didn’t work out for him in Bollywood. He said, “Kaam ki kabhi problem nahi hui. Mujhe hi chhodna pada ki mai nahi kar pa raha hoon. You know… it was like kya mere liye wait kar raha hai… yaha jaise logo ko kaam milta nahi aur mere pas itna kaam hai ki mai kaam nahi kar pa raha. Meri health problems badh rahi hain. Meri financial problems bhi badh gayi, health problems bhi badh gayi toh kaam khatam ho gaya.

Sabse tough phase wo tha when i lost my wife”. He then got to know that he lost his dad as well and then his mother also passed away and then his in-laws passed away too.  Gradually he was alone. In his words, “akela hote hote alone”.

After reading Savi Sidhu’s story, actor Rajkummar Rao tweeted by saying, “Very inspired by ur story #SaviSidhu sir. Have always admired ur work in all ur films. Love ur positivity. Will def ask all my casting friends to reach out to u. Thank u @FilmCompanion for sharing his story. Perseverance is the key to overcoming obstacles.

Anurag Kashyap even spoke about Savi Sindu, he wrote, “There are so many actors out there who don’t have work. I respect Savi Siddhu as an actor and have cast him thrice when he earned the role. I respect him that he chose to live his life with dignity and picked a job unlike so many entitled out of work actors who have either”.

Many people come to Mumbai everyday to become part of the world’s biggest film industry but only a few are lucky to get the chance to survive.
