The song ‘Bismil’ from the much-awaited movie Haider has been officially released. After watching Shahid Kapoor’s spectacular performance in the trailer of the film, we are looking forward to the release of the movie.
The first song of the movie is as spectacular as the first look was. Shot at a fort-like location covered with snow all around, ‘Bismil’ is a traditional Kashmiri folk song sung by the talented playback artist Sukhwinder Singh. The lyrics of ‘Bismil’ have been penned down by our very own Gulzar saab who recently celebrated his 78th birthday.
With lyrics that goes ‘Bismil bismil Bulbul-e-bismil Mat mil mat mil Gul se mat mil’, Shahid seems to be conveying an untold story through the song. The tunes of tanpura gives an all-in-all Kashmiri feel to this newly released track from Haider. Shahid, who is one of Bollywood’s best dancing actors, shows off his dancing skills by performing the traditional Kashmiri folk dance.
The song also shows us a glimpse of the gorgeous actress Shraddha Kapoor and veteran actress Tabu who portray a very important role in the forthcoming film. The key cast of Haider also includes Irfan Khan and Kay Kay Menon. The film, which is Vishal Bharadwaj’s adaptation of William Shakespear’s ‘Hamlet’, is slated to hit the silver screens on October 2, 2014.
