Harry Potter themed cruise is coming to the United Kingdom, much to the merry of Muggles. The six-day river cruise theme is the brainchild of cruise company Barge Lady Cruises. Fans boarding the cruise will be taken to locations where the Harry Potter movie series was shot. Some of the filming locations include calling at 4 Privet Drive, the Great Hall and Warner Bros Studio Tour. Places like Virginia Water (where Harry meets Buckbeak at the lake in The Prisoner of Azkaban), Picket Post Close and The Christ Church College at Oxford University as shown in the Harry Potter will also be covered in the tour. These locations will be covered in the first four days.
The trip begins at the Hotel Stafford in London where passengers will be treated to afternoon tea following which they will visit the Hampton Court. People will explore the palace the next day before ending the day with cocktails and a gourmet dinner. Passengers will also be treated to Hogwarts-inspired meals on the cruise. On the fifth day, people will give a chance to explore the Warner Bros Studio Tour and also check out the iconic props, costumes and the sets to get the feel of the magic world.
The Harry Potter themed river cruises will take place from August 5 to 11, and August 19 to 25 this year. Barge Lady Cruises’ Magna Carta, a luxury ship which is hosting the event can have up to eight people along with four crew members. The rooms onboard include en-suite bathrooms, queen and king-sized beds, underfloor heating and a flat screen television. In case you are a group of eight and want to hire the whole boat, it will cost you USD 39,100. For single occupant, the rates begin at USD 1,650 and double rooms at USD 5,350.
