April 2017 has some amazing Hollywood movies scheduled for release. March ended with a bang with Boss Baby releasing on March 31, 2017 and is going great guns at the theaters. Boss Baby is well liked by the critics as well as the audience. Now April has some very interesting movies lined up which will cater to the fans of all genres. So we have sci-fi, animation, drama everything up for grabs in the month of April. Smurfs 3: The Lost Village, Colossal, Going in Style, Their Finest, The Fate of the Furious are all awaiting release this month. The Indian cinegoers have an array of movies to choose from.

Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Charlize Theron and Jason Statham come together in the Fate of the Furious, the eighth installment in the Fast and the Furious franchise. However, Paul Walker will not be seen in this movie as he died in a tragic car accident. Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin will come together in the hugely acclaimed movie Going in Style that revolves around the antics of these senior citizens who plan a bank heist after the reported bank confiscated their pension. 1.Colossal

Colossal stars Anne Hathaway, Dan Stevens, Jason Sudeikis and Austin Stowell. Anne Hathaway plays the role of Gloria who after losing her job and boyfriend moves back to her hometown. When reports of a giant creature destroying Seoul, Korea starts pouring in, she discovers that she is somehow related to the stranger occurrence. The film has received mixed reviews but Anne Hathaway’s performance has been well appreciated. The movie releases on April 7, 2017.

2.Their Finest

Their Finest is a romantic comedy film based on the 2009 novel Their Finest Hour and a Half by Lissa Evans. The film stars Gemma Arterton, Sam Claflin, Bill Nighy, Jack Huston, Jake Lacy, Richard E. Grant, Henry Goodman, Helen McCrory, and Claudia Jessie. The movie is based in 1940 London, Britain which is bowed down by the war turns to propaganda films to boost morale at home. The ministry hires Gemma Arterton as a scriptwriter to write female dialogues. Her natural flair gets noticed by Sam Claflin who plays a cynical, witty lead scriptwriter and they team up to make an epic feature film based on the Dunkirk rescue starring Bill Nighy. Their Finest scheduled to be released on April 7, 2017.

3.The Sense of An Ending

The Sense of an Ending is a British American drama film directed by Ritesh Batra and written by Nick Payne. The movie is based on the book of same name by Julian Barnes. The film stars Jim Broadbent, Charlotte Rampling, Harriet Walter, Emily Mortimer and Michelle Dockery. The film follows a man who becomes haunted by his past and is presented with a mysterious legacy which causes him to re-think his present life. The film will release on April 7, 2017.

4.Ghost in the Shell

Ghost in the Shell is a science fiction action film based on the Japanese manga of the same name by Masamune Shirow. The film stars Scarlett Johansson, Takeshi Kitano, Michael Pitt, Pilou Asbæk, Chin Han and Juliette Binoche. The story is based in the future when a woman’s brain is placed in the body of a cyborg to become the perfect soldier. The movie opens in theatres on April 7, 2017

5.Going in Style

Going in Style teams up Hollywood veterans like Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin playing lifelong buddies Willie, Joe and Al who decide to rob a bank when their pension becomes a corporate casualty. The movie has received critical acclaim from critics and the three senior actors hold the story together in style! The movie is scheduled for an April 7, 2017 release.

6.The Fate of the Furious also known as Fast and Furious 8

The Fate of the Furious or alternatively known as Fast and Furious 8 is the eighth installment in the Fast and the Furious franchise. The film stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Kurt Russell, Scott Eastwood, Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren. This is the first film in the franchise which does not star Paul Walker who died in a tragic car accident on November 30, 2017. 7.Smurfs: The Lost Village

Smurfs: The Lost Village stars Demi Lovato as Smurfette, Mandy Patinkin as Papa Smurf, Joe Manganiello as Hefty Smurf, Jack McBrayer as Clumsy Smurf, Danny Pudi as Brainy Smurf and Rainn Wilson as Gargamel. The story revolves around a mysterious map that prompts Smurfette, Brainy, Clumsy, and Hefty to find a lost village inhabited by female smurfs before the evil Gargamel does. 8.Unforgettable

The movie revolves around a woman’s pathological jealousy for her ex-husband and his new girlfriend and stops at nothing to turn the couple’s lives into a nightmare. 9.The Lost City of Z

The Lost City of Z is a biographical film written and directed by James Gray. The movie is based on the 2009 book of the same name written by David Grann. The book describes the true story of the life of British explorer Percy Fawcett who made several attempts to find an ancient lost city in the Amazon and finally disappeared in 1925 with his son. The movie stars Charlie Hunnam as Percy Fawcett along with Robert Pattinson as his fellow explorer Henry Costin and Sienna Miller as his wife Nina Fawcett. The film will release in theaters on April 21, 2017.

10. Aftermath

Aftermath stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Scoot McNairy, Maggie Grace and Martin Donovan. The film revolves around a man named Roman (Arnold Schwarzenegger) who lost his wife and child in a plane crash. He holds the air traffic controller Jake Bonanos responsible for the death of his wife and child. The film is based on the real-life Überlingen mid-air collision and the resulting murder of Danish air traffic controller Peter Nielsen. Peter Nielsen was murdered by Vitaly Kaloyev who held him responsible for the loss of his wife and child in the mid-air collision. The movie will release in theaters on April 21, 2017.
