Singer songwriter Hozier unveiled a brand new music video for the song Cherry Wine. The song Cherry Wine which talks about domestic abuse was released around the season of love; Valentine’s Day. Hozier’s Cherry Wine depicts the bitter truth about domestic abuse, and how still many people in relationship experience it around the world.
Cherry Wine music video stars Oscar-nominated actress Saoirse Ronan and actor Moe Dunford in one of the most powerful video ever by Hozier. The couple are seemingly in a passionate relationship, but in the course of the story we come to know about the truth. The couple who are in a loving and passionate relationship are not what they seem to be on the outside. Ronan is seen later sitting in front of a mirror, wiping away her makeup only to reveal a painful bruise on her eye.
The Cherry Wine video tells the tale about how it is difficult for a woman to simply walk out on her abuser. Although the lyrics are about a man being abused by his love, the video shows the woman being abused but the man. The video is part of the #FaceUpToDomesticViolence campaign project, and the proceeds from downloads of Cherry Wine will benefit a series of domestic abuse charities worldwide
