After being under production for nearly three years, ace director Shankar’s much awaited ‘I’ starring Vikram and Amy Jackson’s trailer is out of and expectations have been sky high for this magnum-opus and the fans will not be disappointed with the two minute trailer. As expected, the visuals are breathtaking, towing the line of filmaker’s movies of the past and the there is bound to be a lot of intrigue and excitement with the storyline of the film.
Vikram is the heart and soul of the film and the National Award winning actor’s versatility and dedication in bulking up and then losing weight to look emaciated for the role is evident in trailer. Playing a hulking bodybuilder, model, a deformed hunchback and a beast, Vikram is simply mesmerising and if his histrionics in these visuals are anything go by, it might turn out to be the actor’s best role so far.
Shankar and Vikram had already teamed up in the 2005 blockbuster, Anniyan, which had ‘Chiyaan’ playing three roles and remembered by movie buffs as one of the most memorable Tamil films of the last decade. There was a lot of buzz about Vikram’s preparation for the role as the physical transformation that the role demanded is unprecedented in Indian films till date. Apart from the ravishing English beauty, Amy Jackson, the movie also has TV star, model and Bollywood hunk Upen Patel, who plays the baddie in the film. AR Rehman ‘s music has been topping the charts for weeks now and the visuals should enhance the music further in the forthcoming weeks.
After the massive success of Aparichit and Rajinikanth’s Robot, Shankar’s fans have transcended linguistic barriers and the excitement in B-town has also palpable. Produced by Aascar films, ‘I’ is slated for a Pongal release — in the second week of January 2015, which will also clash with actor Ajith Kumar’s Yennai Arindaal and it is sure to be a visual treat for the moviegoers.
