Afghanistan may not be one of the major cricket playing nations, but cricket is big in the country. Afghanistan is all set to play its second World Cup in 2019, and this Afghan fans’ excitement knows no bounds.

While sharing the picture on Twitter, Cricket World Cup’s social media handle captions it as, “WE. LOVE. THIS. A brilliant Cricket World Cup trophy made out of grass in Afghanistan, and we’d love to find the person who made it!” The page posted two photographs of the Cricket World Cup. While one photo is of a grass replica of the ICC World Cup, the other shows the fan posing with it.

The tweet posted on May 1, has garnered over 25 thousand likes. The 12th edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is set to begin in the summers and will be hosted by England and Wales. The schedule for the sporting extravaganza is out and it will take place from 30 May to 14th July 2019. Afghanistan will start its campaign from June 1, when they will take on Australia at the County Ground in Bristol.
