The Ice Bucket Challenge that has become a raging trend on the social media platform thanks to the top-notch celebrities taking up this challenge to raise money and awareness for fighting ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease. Started by ALS Foundation, this campaign gained momentum with names from the likes of business tycoons like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg to showbiz icons like Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake. With so much going around, sports icons could not be far behind from doing their bit in raising awareness and hence took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and gave their three nominations to take up the challenge. Cristiano Ronaldo takes the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Watching Cristiano Ronaldo is a treat in itself but it gets far more exciting when he is stripped down. Well do not get too excited as the Real Madrid star took up the Ice Bucket Challenge like a true sportsman. He looked relaxed wearing but boxers as two buckets of chilled water was poured over him. Ronaldo’s three nominations to take up this challenge was pop-stars Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez and Lil Wayne

Neymar Jr takes the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Now this is a sweet revenge by Brazilian playmaker Neymar Jr who took up the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and later nominated Juan Camilo Zuniga, the Colombian player who ousted the Brazilian player after he injured the player during this World Cup edition. Seen in vest, Neymar Jr. took the chilled out challenge after being challenged by team-mate Marcello.

Sania Mirza take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Indian Tennis sensation Sania Mirza joins the Ice Bucket Challenge to give the ALS raise awareness a momentum in India. Sania Mirza performed the Ice Bucket Challenge twice as many thought she did not have enough water. She did it well and she later nominated her friend, actor Riteish Deshmukh to take the Ice Bucket Challenge.

Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Famous Golfers Tigers Woods and Rory McIlroy were the latest celebrities to take up the Ice Bucket Challenge. The two were challenged by Nike CEO Mark Parker. Tiger Woods seemed to enjoy emptying the water bucket on Rory McIlory’s head. In his nominations, Tiger Woods took Nike Chairman Phil Knight and tennis player Rafael Nadal’s name. McIlroy challenged former U.S. President George W. Bush, soccer star Wayne Rooney and actress Meghan Markle.

David Beckham takes the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Superstar David Beckham set the temperature soaring as the star footballer took the Ice Bucket Challenge. Challenged by American RJ Ryan Seacrest, father of four, David Beckham went shirtless and performed the task to raise awareness about the motor neuron disease. He later nominated Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson, and Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio.

John Terry takes the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Chelsea star John Terry thanked former team-mate Ashley Cole for nominating him as the enthusiastic Terry poured the water vessel over his head post his club’s 3-1 victory over Burnley. In his three choices of nominations, he took Frank Lampard, John Obi Mikel and Rafa Benitez. It was an interesting as he nominated his former manager Rafa Benitez, with whom he shared strained relationship.

Caroline Wozniacki takes the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Caroline Wozniacki took the Ice Bucket Challenge to another level as she did not use Ice cubes. After being nominated by another tennis player Laura Robson, Wozniacki performed the task coolly with a bit of shriek at the end. She nominated her close friend and world number 1 Serena Williams, John Isner and Michael Walker.
