In an adorable incident, Indian Army officer, Thakur Chandresh Singh, proposed his lady love, Dhara Mehta, after he officially became the officer of the Indian Army in the Rajputana Rifles. During the grand ceremony, the Army Cadet, who graduated from the Officer Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai, participated in its oath ceremony followed by a parade. Soon after the parade, he got down on his knees to propose his long-time girlfriend and she said yes.
The photos of the couple were posted on Instagram and since then, the post has garnered more than 34,000 likes.
Chandresh, recalling the incident, said that it was not a spontaneous moment for him. He planned the proposal since the day he got recommended for the Army. He had called his parents as well as Dhara’s parents for tipping ceremony, wherein parents pin stars on the shoulders of the Army officer.
Speaking to a leading news portal, he said, “I have been in a relationship for the past three-and-a-half years. I had shown Dhara’s picture to my parents three years ago and told them that she is the one, I have chosen. But I had to prove myself first and fulfil my dream.”

Recalling the first two years of the relationship, he said that the duo just shared the basic greetings but in the third year, they went on to spend more time together. Dhara confessed her love first to him and he took a year to respond as he wanted to focus on the preparation of the Services Selection Board. Chandresh failed the first attempt and realised how Dhara backed him through his thick and thin. That was the moment he realised that he has fallen in love with his best friend.
The couple met at St Joseph College of Arts and Science in Bangalore in 2012. Though both of them had different subjects but had one common class for Hindi.
Love is beautiful!
