Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene finished their limited-overs career in Sri Lanka in a fitting fashion as Mahela Jayawardene dismissed James Tredwell stumped by Kumar Sangakkara to help Sri Lanka to a 87-run win over England in the seventh One-Day International (ODI) match at the R Premadasa in Colombo on Tuesday.

Jayawardene picked up the last wicket of the match as Sri Lanka crushed England 5-2 in the seven-match ODI series. Tredwell was only his eighth Test wicket in 434 ODIs. He has, however, helpe Sri Lanka to innumerable victories with some fine batting and excellent captaincy. He has scored 12,247 runs in 434 ODIs, including 17 centuries and 76 fifties. Along with good friend and colleague Kumar Sangakkara has scripted innumerable wins for Sri Lanka and been instrumental in shaping Sri Lankan cricket in the 21st century.

Kumar Sangakkara has scored 13,372 runs in 290 ODI at an average of 40.64, including 20 centuries and 91 half-centuries. Sangakkara and Jayawardene are fourth and fifth respectively in the total ODI runs list. Only Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting and Sanath Jayasuriya have scored more runs than the two Sri Lankan.
