Jason Statham is known for pre-eminent action roles that he plays on big screen. Once again, he is back with thriller and adventurous movie that is slated to release in August 2018. For the first time, the 48-year-old actor will be diving deeper to take on a prehistoric shark that’s the biggest ever in recorded history. The first trailer of ‘The Meg’ is already out and it does run goosebumps into your body.
In this new trailer, Jason Statham is seen exploring international deep-sea observation program when their deep sea station is attacked by the 75-foot long shark that was thought to be extinct—a massive Megalodon. Jason Statham, then with his team go deep down in the ocean to take down on the world’s largest and terrifying fish. The movie definitely features a lot of shark attacks and a face-off between Jason Statham and the shark. The film will be a package of action, comedy, thrill, and ridiculousness.
The movie is directed by Jon Turteltaub and stars Winston Chao, Li Bingbing, Rainn Wilson, Ruby Rose, Page Kennedy, Jessica McNamee, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Robert Taylor, Cliff Curtis, Shuya Sophia Cai and Masi Oka. The movie is based on the novel by Steven Alten.

The synopsis of the movie reads like, “A deep-sea submersible—part of an international undersea observation program—has been attacked by a massive creature, previously thought to be extinct, and now lies disabled at the bottom of the deepest trench in the Pacific…with its crew trapped inside. With time running out, expert deep-sea rescue diver Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) is recruited by a visionary Chinese oceanographer (Winston Chao), against the wishes of his daughter Suyin (Li Bingbing), to save the crew—and the ocean itself—from this unstoppable threat: a pre-historic 75-foot-long shark known as the Megalodon. What no one could have imagined is that years before, Taylor had encountered this same terrifying creature. Now, teamed with Suyin, he must confront his fears and risk his own life to save everyone trapped below.”
The movie will be hitting the theatre on August 10th, 2018.
