June 3, 2014, marks the first death anniversary of Bollywood actress Jiah Khan. The 24-year-old Jiah Khan a.k.a. Nafisa Khan was found hanging dead at her Mumbai residence a year back. Reports said she committed suicide after breaking up with her boyfriend, actor Aditya Pancholi’s son Suraj Pancholi. Pancholi spent some time in jail but was released later.

Jiah had acted in Bollywood blockbusters like Ram Gopal Varma’s Nishabd, Aamir Khan’s Ghajini and Sajid Khan’s Housefull.

A memorial service will be held today at the Chelsea Town Hall in London, to be attended by Jiah’s friends and family.

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is a man of few words but some of his movies show depth. When one of his muses Jiah Khan died he went on to share his condolences via a short film on her.

RGV chose to pay a tribute by presenting Jiah Khan’s family with this clipping of Jiah titled The reel and the reality of Jiah. The video is all about Jiah’s zest for life and very charming personality, and how she uttered the philosophy of life by saying ‘Zindagi Ko Light Leneka’.

The video ends with a message by RGV: “How I wish we all could have made her follow this philosophy in life too.” This special short film is his way of paying tributes to the late actress. If you missed out on the video last year, check it out here.
