Legendary actor Kader Khan passes away at 81 in Canada. He was an actor, screenwriter, comedian and director who featured in over 300 films. He breathed his last today i.e. January 1, 2019. Kader Khan was admitted to a hospital in Canada on Friday after he complained of breathlessness. Later it was reported that he was suffering from pneumonia too.

The versatile actor was known for his amazing performances in movies like Daag, Chowki No.11, Bulundi, Sanam Teri Kasam, Himmatwala, Sikka, Aankhen and Coolie No. 1.

“My dad has left us. He passed away on December 31 at 6 pm as per Canadian time due to prolonged illness. He slipped into coma in the afternoon. He was in the hospital for 16-17 weeks. The last rites will be performed here in Canada only. We have our entire family here and we live here so we are doing it,” Khan’s son Sarfaraz told PTI, adding, “We are thankful to everyone for their blessings and prayers,” he added.

As soon as the news of demise came out, Twitter got flooded with condolence messages. Starting from Union Cabinet Minister of Textiles Smriti Z Irani to Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, everyone took to their Twitter account to extend condolences.

Khan had debuted in Hindi film industry with the 1973 film, Daag, which featured Rajesh Khanna in the lead role. Apart from giving some of the most memorable funny characters in Hindi films, Khan had also been praised for his negative roles in films like Do Aur Do Paanch (1980) among others.
