Telangana, Aug 5: The Kiki challenge has been making headlines off late and the latest to add to the sensation is two farmers from Telangana who are seen dancing to Drake’s hit “In My Feelings” as they plough a rice field with bullocks. The video which has already garnered more than 16 million views shows 24-year-old Geela Anil Kumar and 28-year-old Pilli Thirupathi dancing away to glory.

The viral video has set everybody talking and has made these two youth popular in no time. What is more interesting is that Thirupathi  has even named his newborn son Keke just after the video went viral. The idea to make this video came after local police spread the message not to indulge in the ‘Kiki challenge‘ since it involved dancing alongside a moving vehicle. Movie director Sriram Srikanth, who saw this message from the police, got interested and researched on this Kiki challenge only to discuss it with these two youngsters and the result is the viral video.

The video, which was an impromptu one was shot on August 1 and was hence uploaded on Srikanth’s local YouTube channel “My Village Show”. He said, “We wanted to do something safe and yet fun.” Srikanth further said, “We were shooting, and the guys were dancing, when suddenly the bullocks stopped. Anil, without missing a beat, went on to prod them to continue and danced like never before. We got lucky I guess.”

Meanwhile, the relatives of the two youth also expressed their feelings upon the video going viral. Geela Anil’s parents, Nirmala and Malleshan, who work as farm labourers, were surprised by their son’s popularity and are shocked to see how it has gone beyond their village. Reacting to the same Anil said that his parents have no clue about the internet so it was a while before they understood what has really happened.

The video’s popularity has led the local TV channels and a few producers to sit up and take notice of both the youth. Some have even expressed interest in hiring the two talented youngsters. And if you think that’s the end to it, then it’s not. The humongous popularity of the video also led comedian and Daily Show host Trevor Noah to take notice and soon thereafter he posted the video on his Instagram page, declaring both Anil and Thirupathi  as winners of the Kiki challenge.

It has also been posted by Bollywood celebrities like Vivek Oberoi.
