A video of a lion vying for attention from tourists at a safari park in Crimea has gone viral.
The incident took place at Taigan Safari Park where tourists are given the chance to have a close and personal encounter with the lions. In the video, which was released by the wildlife park, a vehicle that was open on all sides could be seen driving up to where a lion named Filya was napping.
And as the car, which was being driven by park owner Oleg Zubkov, approached, the lion got up and hopped into the vehicle much to the surprise of the tourists. The lion then began rubbing itself against Zubkov in an affectionate and rough manner, that ended with the park owner being pushed out of the car.
It next decided to give the same treatment to the tourists in the vehicle, and though he was just trying to be affectionate, some of them actually looked terrified.

For some of the tourists, it must have been a dream come true to actually be able to pet a lion and come out of it unscathed. But not all encounters have happy endings, as one woman revealed when she visited the park and was mauled by another lion.
About two months before, Filya’s interaction was filmed, Olga Solomina was attacked by another lion while she was inside its enclosure. It bit her right hand and dragged her along the ground. Lucky for her, the park’s staff rescued her from its clutches.
