It would not be wrong to say Parisians enjoy being naked, to be close to nature – in a raw deal. France is the naturist haven to boast some of the world’s most popular nudist spots. Adding to the list is their first nudist public park named Bois de Vincennes Park, dedicated to all those who love ditching their clothes to be closer to the nature. While there are a number of nude beaches in France, the park is the first one to be created inside the city space in Paris. The mayor’s office said the nudist park is ‘part of an open-minded vision for the use of Parisian public spaces. And to make the experience of naked tourists more enjoyable, Paris opened its first nudist park with a promise of not allowing voyeurism. 5 nude beaches in India you didn’t know about!

“The creation of an area in the Bois de Vincennes where naturism will be authorised is part of our open-minded vision for the use of Parisian public spaces,” said Penelope Komites, a deputy mayor in charge of the city’s parks, according to AFP report. More than 2.6 million people in France have made nudism a regular habit, according to the France 4 Naturism association.

Parisian Nudist Park will be open from Thursday 31 August until 15 October, from 8am-7.30pm (0600-1730 GMT). It is present near the park’s bird reserve – spread over 7,300 square metres, providing huge space naked hikers. But what makes this open space extra special is the authorities claim of strictly prohibiting voyeurism or exhibitionism to assure the respect for those making the most of their natural state.

“It’s a true joy, it’s one more freedom for naturists,” said Julien Claude-Penegry of the Paris Naturists Association, estimating that thousands of people in the region will want to take advantage of the site. “It shows the city’s broad-mindedness and will help change people’s attitudes toward nudity, toward our values and our respect for nature,” he said, adding that he has been a practising nudist for 20 years.
