“Boys are boys, they make mistakes. We should stop our women from wearing jeans. 90% rapes are consensual” are the opening lines of Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon’s upcoming movie ‘Maatr’s’ teaser. The 46-second hard hitting trailer questions discrimination and irrational reasoning we name the apathy of a molested or a raped woman. The trailer begins with “Justice or Justify?” and then follows to display an array of words on which the money seems to be based. In a flash of seconds, the screen shows words like power, money, control, politics, discrimination, inequality, lawlessness, assault, harassment and ends at injustice written in bold.

After releasing the poster on Thursday, the makers of the movie have come up with its teaser that is equally intriguing. Raveena Tandon will be seen in a powerful avatar in the upcoming movie. She will be seen essaying the role of a mother in ‘Maatr’. It will be interesting to see how Raveena plays the role of a normal woman in the movie. The revenge thriller IS written by Michael Pellico and directed by Ashtar Sayed and is due to be released on April 21, 2017. The film is being produced under the banners CDB Musical in association with Anjum Rizvi Film Co., Manoj Adhikari Production and Pugmark Films Pvt Ltd. Raveena won’t promote ‘Maatr…’ on Arunabh Kumar’s TVF

Talking about the movie IANS earlier quoted her as saying, “This his film deals about violence against women. It has become a big concern for our society and mostly what we can see in these type of cases. I am not particularly talking about rape cases only, but all types of violence against women, for which our justice system fails. ‘Maatr’ speaks about the system failure and what really can be done or what should be done when such violence against women happens.”

Raveen who earlier had plans to promote her upcoming movie ‘Maatr’ on The Viral Fever (TVF), cancelled it following the sexual harassment allegations against its founder and CEO Arunabh Kumar.
