After facing numerous hurdles in the form of protests, bans and cut, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, Padmaavat, finally released on January 25, 2018. And there has been no looking back since then. The film continues to rake in the moolah and has entered the coveted Rs 200 crore club. This despite the film being banned in a few states. The film stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati, alongside Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh, and Ranveer Singh as Sultan Alauddin Khilji. While all three have given brilliant performances, the audience has been completely floored by Ranveer’s portrayal of the menacing Khilji. Dance covers of Ranveer’s ‘Khilji’ dance have been doing the rounds on social media. But perhaps the funniest one is by actor-comedian Krushna Abhishek.
Singer Mika recently shared a video of Krushna dancing to Padmaavat song ‘Khalibali’, and the netizens are pretty impressed! Mika tweeted that he watched Padmaavat with his friend Krushna Abhishek. Mika added that he loved the movie and appreciated the work of all three actors – Shahid, Ranveer and Deepika. Maybe the performance of Ranveer was so impactful that Krushna was tempted to try out his steps from the song ‘Khalibali’. Mika tweeted, ‘Hey bro @RanveerOfficial .. watch my friend @Krushna_KAS is dancing on #khalibali … we watched the movie and we loved it .. good job @shahidkapoor and beautiful @deepikapadukone ….’ Well, though not perfect, we feel Krushna did imitate the ferocious look and powerful dance moves of Ranveer quite well. To top it all, it is quite hilarious at the same time!

Krushna Abhishek also shared the dance video some time later, and says that after watching Padmavat, Mika became ‘#khilji’. ‘Hey bro @RanveerOfficial after watching padmavati @MikaSingh paaji became #khilji lol😂 But I just loved #Padmavati .. @shahidkapoor , @deepikapadukone @aditiraohydari and @RanveerOfficial you guys did a great job.. I salute Mr. bhansali sir… ‘ states his tweet.

Padmaavat is based on the 16th century fictionalised poem Padmavat by Malik Muhammad Jayasi. Since its release, Padmaavat has been appreciated by not just the audience, but also the film fraternity. The actors have been receiving a lot of love from industry veterans, congratulating them for their stellar performances. From Amitabh Bachchan to Rishi and Neetu Kapoor and Rekha, they sent flowers and good wishes to the lead actors of the film. Plus, the box office numbers speak volumes about the audience’s response to the film.
