World famous boxer Muhammad Ali who passed away last year will be commemorated with a TAG Heuer watch in a red carpet launch event in London today. The Swiss watchmaker had collaborated with Muhammad Ali Center last year to develop “Tribute to Muhammad Ali” Carrera Calibre 5 limited edition timepiece. A year after the boxer’s death the company is still working with the non-profit organization to raise money for charitable causes. Paying tribute to one of the greatest boxers of all time, the company will launch their watch at the exclusive event in London.

Larry Holmes, another popular boxer from the 20th century, is flying from America to be a part of the event. He is expected to walk the red carpet in the West End on Tuesday evening. The event will be taking place at the new state-of-the-art BXR London boxing gym. The guest list includes popular names from the sports world. While heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is among its investors, promoter Eddie Hearn and music producer Mark Ronson will also be a part of the event.

The guest list also includes former rugby player Kenny Logan, former Spice Girl Geri Horner and Larry Holmes will also be in attendance. According to Verdict, TAG Heuer had announced that they will be auctioning a signed portrait of Muhammad Ali and a pair of special edition gloves. The winning bid had raised to USD 5,000 for charity. In the past too, TAG has auctioned off items to raise money for the center. A limited edition gold Carrera Calibre 5 was sold for USD 119,000 at last year’s event. Proceeds from the event will go forward to Muhammad Ali Foundation which is based on another monument made in his memory. The monument, Ali Center in his home city of Louisville which is overseen by his widow, Lonnie.
