Monsoon in Mumbai comes with its fair share of problems. One such trouble is when it collapses the lifeline of Mumbai – the local railway. The MET predicted heavy downpour starting from June 9, especially a rainy Saturday and Sunday.

Central Railway released a statement sharing details of their work schedule for June 10(Sunday). Down Harbour line services from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to Vashi, Belapur, Panvel will be suspended from11:34 am to 4:47 pm. On the other hand, the Down Harbour line trains to Bandra, Andheri, Goregaon from CSTM will be suspended from 9:56 am to 4:43 pm. The Up Harbour line will also be affected due to maintenance work. The train for CSTM from Panvel, Belapur and Vashi will be suspended from 9:53 am to 3:20 pm, while the services leaving Bandra, Andheri and Goregaon from 10.45 am to 4.58 pm will remain suspended.

Also, Western Railways released a statement, Jumbo block between Churchgate and Mumbai Central on June 10 (Sunday). To carry out maintenance work of tracks, signaling & overhead equipment, a jumbo block will be taken on Up & Dn slow lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central (Local) from 10:35 hrs to 15:35 hrs on Sunday, 10th June, 2018. During the block period, all slow line trains will be operated on fast lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central (Local). Due to this, some Up and Dn suburban trains will remain canceled. Detailed information to this effect is available with concerned Station Masters. Passengers are requested to take note of the above arrangements.
