And India’s Manoj Kumar Maharana is one such example. The 23-year-old from Odisha has broken the record of ‘Most straws stuffed in the mouth (hands off)’, by cramming 459 drinking straws into his mouth at once. To break the record, Manoj had to ensure that the straws were fully in his mouth and stayed there for at least 10 seconds without even one falling off.

There is another variation to this record, and that is ‘Most straws stuffed in the mouth (with hands)’. As the name suggests, challengers to this title are allowed to use their hands to hold the straws in their mouth. They are therefore able to fit more straws into the mouth. Guinness Rishi from India has created a record of holding 496 straws in his mouth on the set of Guinness World Records – Ab India Todega in Mumbai in 2016. Rishi had all his teeth removed so that he could cram more straws in his mouth.
