Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma recently revealed that she was at the 89th Academy Awards which was held on February 26! Yes, you read that right, if you do not believe us, well here is the proof. The Phillauri actress reacted to the Best Picture Academy Award at the Oscar in a funny way. She said she tried her power to stop it, but the presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway did not listen as they did not understand Hindi dialect. This year’s Oscars grabbed a lot of limelight as the presenters mistakenly named “La La Land” as the Best Picture and the producers even gave their acceptance speeches. Later on, everybody came to know that “Moonlight” had won the award and not “La La Land”.
She took to her Twitter page on Thursday and posted, “Yeh log mujhe sun nahin paye, main toh kab se Hindi mein keh rahi thi ki naam galat likha hai (These people couldn’t hear me only. I was telling them for a long time, in Hindi, that they got the name wrong.) Shashi was there.” We must say, the actress brilliantly promoted her forthcoming film “Phillauri”. Isn’t this funny? The post was part of a social media campaign called #ShashiWasHere and in the movie, Anushka Sharma plays the character of a ghost, Shashi. Have a look at her tweet –
Anushka’s fans have started using ‘#ShashiWasThere’ and started posting pictures of their sightings, and this has taken the internet by storm. We can only say that the makers of the movie are leaving no stone unturned and to promote the movie and reach out to millions of people. The makers have even started a hashtag “ShashiWasThere” on Twitter and are morphing Anushka aka Shashi’s photo and palcing it on different pictures. This unique idea has just left their fans in splits.
The movie is directed by Anshai Lal and produced by Anushka Sharma, which stars Diljit Dosanjh, Suraj Sharma and Mehreez Pirzada. The film will hit the theatre on March 24, 2017.
