The Oscars are over and so is two months of this year, but the next month i.e. March looks very promising with regards to the movies that are releasing. There are 5 Fridays in the month and hence more new releases with a few days having multiple releases. The array of films from Bollywood for March is very interesting as almost every genre like romance, action, thriller, comedy and drama are up to regale all kinds of audiences. Popular celebrities like Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma, Taapsee Pannu, Akshay Kumar and Manoj Bajpayee all have films slated to be released in this month whereas acting stalwarts like Irrfan Khan, Rajkummar Rao, Govinda, Sanjay Mishra and Ashutosh Rana will also be making their fray to the silver screen with their films.

A lot of big movies and a few sequels are up for release in the month of March like Commando 2: The Black Money Trail, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Naam Shabana, Phillauri, Anaarkali of Aarah etc. It’s a lot of movies and keeping track of release dates are difficult so we have made things easy for you. 1. Commando 2: The Black Money Trail – Releasing March 3, 2017
Commando 2 stars action star Vidyut Jammwal, Adah Sharma, Adil Hussain, Esha Gupta and Freddy Daruwala. The movie has been directed by Deven Bhojani and is produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah. The film is a sequel to the 2013 film Commando: A One man Army which starred Vidyut Jammwal in the title role along with Pooja Chopra and Jaideep Ahlawat. In Commando 2: The Black Money Trail Vidyut Jammwal showcases his martial arts skills to the full and is on a mission to eradicate black money which has been siphoned to banks abroad.

2. Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai – Releasing March 3, 2017
Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai stars Arbaaz Khan, Manjari Fadnis, Ashutosh Rana, Himansh Kohli, Supriya Pathak, Rati Agnihotri and Prem Chopra. The story starts from a small-town in Rajasthan, moves to Mumbai and finally culminates in New York. Each character is diverse and unique but depicts the colourful journey of life.

3. Badrinath Ki Dulhania – Releasing March 10, 2017
This is one of the most looked forward to movies of the year. Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan returns with the second installment of the franchise that began with Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014). The movie is directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar under his Dharma Productions banner. The teaser and the trailer of the movie have already generated quite a buzz on social media and the remake of the 90s cult hit song ‘Tamma Tamma Loge’ that featured Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt has already created waves in the market. 4. Aa Gaya Hero – Releasing March 16, 2017
Aa Gaya Hero which was previously titled Abhinav Chakra is an action comedy film directed by Dipankar Senapati and is produced by Govinda. This is slated as the comeback film of Govinda. The film stars Govinda and former Mrs World Richa Sharmain lead roles along with Ashutosh Rana, Murali Sharma, Makarand Deshpande and Harish Kumar in supporting roles. The film was earlier scheduled to release on August 29, 2014 then it was postponed to be released on March 3, 2017 but now finally will release on March 16, 2017.

5. Trapped – Releasing on March 17, 2017
Trapped is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane of Udaan fame and stars Rajkummar Rao, Geetanjali Thapa and Khushboo Upadhyay. The film is a survival thriller and had its world premiere at the Mumbai Film Festival on October 26, 2016 and earned plaudits and a standing ovation at the festival. The movie revolves around a man who gets stuck in an empty high rise without food, water and electricity. The film is produced by ANurag Kashyap, Madhu Mantena and Vikas Bahl.

6. Machine – Releasing on March 24, 2017
Machine is a romantic thriller directed by Abbas-Mustan that stars Mustafa Burmawalla, Kiara Advani and Carla Dennis. Machine depicts the story of racing enthusiasts Kiara Advani and Mustafa Burmawalla who meet each other under mysterious circumstances. The film is set to be a launchpad for Mustafa Burmawalla who is the son of Abbas Burmawalla of Abbas-Mastan director duo.

7. Phillauri – Releasing on March 24, 2017
Anushka Sharma’s next production venture after the much acclaimed NH 10 Phillauri is looking very promising and a must watch film. The movie has Anushka Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh in lead roles along with Suraj Sharma of Life of Pi fame and Mehreen Pirzada. Anushka Sharma plays a friendly ghost in this movie who gets married to Suraj Sharma when the latter marries a tree in order to drive away the ‘maangalik dosha’ in his horoscope. What follows is complete mayhem and Suraj Sharma’s antics of finding himself being followed by a ghost is really entertaining. The trailers as well as the songs of the movie have already created a buzz on social media. . 8. Anaarkali of Aarah – Releasing March 24, 2017
Swara Bhaskar stars in the title role in this movie along with Sanjay Mishra, and Pankaj Tripathi. Anaarkali of Aarah brings out the subject of women empowerment in its most entertaining form. Anaarkali of Aarah revolves around a small town performer from Aarah in Bihar who performs double meaning songs. One day her world turns upside down when she chooses to fight back and confront a powerful man who molests her.

9. Bhanwarey – releasing on March 24, 2017
Bhanwarey is a dark-comedy drama that stars Shaurya Singh, Karan Thakur, Jashan Singh Kohli, Priyanka Shukla and Manoj Bakshi in lead roles. The film revolves around three male friends who go to any lengths to get out of tricky situations and is based on the premise of male sexual health problems (primarily Premature Ejaculation). The film also tries to deliver a social message that no matter what happens, one should not choose the wrong path.
10. Hindi Medium – Releasing on March 31, 2017
Hindi Medium stars Irrfan Khan and Pakistani actress Saba Qamar and is directed by Saket Chaudhary. It is a romantic comedy film based on a married couple from Chandni Chowk who wants to move to the upper society of New Delhi.

10. Naam Shabana – Releasing on March 31, 2017
Naam Shabana is an action spy thriller film directed by Shivam Nair and stars Taapsee Pannu in the title role. It is a prequel/spin-off from the 2015 film Baby in which Taapsee Pannu played Shabana. The film stars Manoj Bajpayee, Anupam Kher and Akshay Kumar.
