Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his monthly radio broadcast ‘Mann Ki Baat‘ programme on All India Radio (AIR) discussed on the issues of stress which students and parents feel during the board examinations. PM Modi began his 30-minute-long speech by recalling his student days. Modi said that he wasn’t a bright student in his childhood and even added that his teachers sometimes failed to read his writing too.
Talking about the amount of pressure a student feels during the board or any other competitive exams, PM Narendra Modi said that parents should never compare the progress of their child with that of a neighbour or relative. Students these days indulge in excessive competition which results in losing on their sheen and creative edge. Referring to the rising competition these days Modi said, “There should be competition but one shouldn’t feel left out of the competition if he or she loses; it may feel that it is the end of your world, but trust me it is not.” (Also read: Live Narendra Modi Mann Ki Baat about board exams on All India Radio Updates: ‘Win, but not to defeat anyone in your life’, says PM Modi)
Giving his own formula of of excellence, PM Narendra Modi said that students should have strong will and stability which will give them determination. And when you couple determination with vigour, you achieve excellence.
Endorsing his ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ programme, Modi told to students to look up to their sisters and (girl) friends who also contribute in domestic help, despite giving their board exams simultaneously. Students should look upto them and set them as their examples.
Urging students to be Modi urged young students to keep faith in themselves. Modi said that the preparation you (students) have done for your exams will make you pass with flying colours. The PM also added that the students should have full confidence in their abilities.
While concluding his address, Narendra Modi said, “Win, but not to defeat anyone in your life. Succeed, to fulfill your decisions, and succeed to make yourself happy. The more brighter your (students) future will be, the future of India will be as much brighter. It’s destiny is to be carved by the youth of India only.”
