Princess Diana was born on July 1, 1961, as Diana Spencer, daughter of the 8th Earl Spencer. She was the first wife of Charles, Prince of Wales, the eldest child and heir apparent of Queen Elizabeth II. The two married on July 29, 1981, in a fairytale wedding and bore two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. Princess Diana died in a tragic accident on August 31, 1997, in Paris – a year after she divorced Prince Charles. The entire world mourned the loss of the charming princess and the most loved fashion icon of England’s royalty.

On her birth anniversary today, we share a special documentary, Diana a Model Princess that chronicles the Princess of Wales’ journey as a fashionista.
