Bollywood and Hollywood actress Priyanka Chopra and American singer Nick Jonas got married on December 1, 2018 at Jodhpur’s Umaid Bhawan Palace. Both the families were present for the couple’s new beginning. Ahead of these ceremonies, we are stuck with PeeCee and Nick’s love story. It all started in 2016 when the Jonas brothers first slid into Priyanka’s direct message. Revealing all, Priyanka-Nick shared the origins of their love story for the first time with Vogue.

‘It was Nick who sent the first message,’ Priyanka said. But there is a story behind that. Nick first sent a text to Graham Rogers, Chopra’s costar on Quantico, that read: ‘Priyanka. Is. Wow.’ But Nick said that is not the way he usually talks. Then he sent a message to Priyanka on Twitter: ‘I’m hearing from a few mutual friends that we should meet,’ the note said.

Nick made the first move by DMing Priyanka on Twitter. He wrote, “I’m hearing from a few mutual friends that we should meet,” on September 8, 2016. “She responded day of with a message that said, ‘My team can read this. Why don’t you just text me,’ Nick said. They exchange numbers and Nick began texting, and the two began to get to know one another. Chopra laughs, ‘Boy got the number!’ Nick said it was “friendly with an eye toward flirtation.”

In 2017, they met at the Vanity Fair Oscars After Party. He was at the bar, he saw her. “I put my drink down,” Jonas said. “Get on one knee—this is in front of a bunch of people—and I say, ‘You’re real. Where have you been all my life?’ Like, loud.”

Months passed, and in May 2017, the two got a drink before they went to the Met Gala as each other’s date for designer Ralph Lauren. They went to Priyanka’s apartment after, where her mother was, and “hung out for a couple of hours,” Priyanka said. “He patted my back before he left.” Then they didn’t see each other for a year until this year’s Met Gala in May.

The couple tells Vogue that Nick invited Priyanka to a Beauty and the Beast live performance, then a Dodgers game during Memorial Day weekend. That’s when the tabloids first started reporting that Chonas was a thing, too. And that’s when, Vogue reports, Nick called his mom and informed her that he was going to marry Chopra, after “date three,” as he put it.

Nick took Priyanka to Crete (Greece), where he proposed on the midnight after her birthday, July 19. “I got down on one knee, again, and I said: Will you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me?” Nick told Vogue. “No joke—she took about 45 seconds. Forty-five seconds of silence.” Priyanka was speechless, by her own account. Eventually, Nick took the initigvaie and slid the ring onto Priyanka’s finger. So Nick then told her, “I’m going to put this ring on your finger now unless you have any objections.”
