Superstar Rajinikanth’s name is tossed and thrown around in many a Tamil film, understandably so as the movie gets a lot of mileage and attention and the latest Sivakarthikeyan flick follows suit. The rising star plays the title character, a wastrel who is a menace to society. His parter-in-crime is comedian Soori. The teaser opens with Sivakarthikeyan draped in a white suit and salt and pepper hair and recreates the superstar’s act in his superhit film, Muthu. There is nothing much to write home about in this teaser apart from veteran actor Raj Kiran making a comeback.
Comedies have been a tried and tested formula but the recent ones have failed to set the box-office on fire. There is a dearth of good comedies in the Tamil film industry. Sivakarthikeyan, known for his impeccable timing shows promise and a victory with this flick will definitely put him in the big league. D. Imaan scores the music in the film and is directed by debutant Ponram. The film is produced by popular director N. Linguswamy’s banner, Thirrupathi Brothers.
