Irrespective of the fate of Rudramadevi, one has to tip their hats to the Telugu filmmakers, who have been masters of period drama set on a massive scale. Baahubali stood testament to what they can do, and SS Rajamouli showed how he can carry a film on his shoulders and cater the content to audiences across the country. This is exactly that is on display in Rudramadevi as well and just like Rajamouli, here is another experienced filmmaker, Gunashekar at the helm of affairs and the setting, star cast and the costumes look dazzling and looks certain to make the Telugu industry proud yet again.
In the making for two years now, Rudramadevi has Anushka Shetty playing the titular character and the actress looks regal in her avatar. No stranger to warrior-princess roles, Anushka has been a natural choice for such roles since the immensely successful Arundathi (2009). Here again, she looks natural wielding a sword. Giving her company is a power-packed star cast. Antagonist in Baahubali and Rana Daggubati plays a similar role along with a blood thirsty Allu Arjun, who is on the move to wreak havock in the kingdom. Prakash Raj also plays an important role. The VFX and special effects are a treat to the eyes in the trailer and this should help expectations hit the roof before the film’s release. Can substance match style in this one?
