Salman Khan was sentenced to five years of imprisonment by a Jodhpur court today in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. Salman was immediately taken into custody and underwent a medical examination. His lawyer was prepared to produce their appeal before the Rajasthan High Court but the actor will have to spend at least one night in Jodhpur Central Prison.
Despite Salman’s conviction, his fans did not lose their hope. Salman’s fans gathered in large number outside his residence – Galaxy Apartment – in the suburb of Bandra shouting slogans like ‘We love you Salman Khan’ and praying for his freedom. Producer of Baaghi 2 Sajid Nadiadwala has canceled the success bash of the film after the court’s verdict and is heading directly to Jodhpur to be with Salman for a bail hearing.
