A matrimonial advertisement, which was published recently, is doing the rounds on social media for all wrong reasons. The ad is about a 37-year-old Mysuru-based industrialist, who is looking for a non-smoker, non-feminist bride. The controversial advertisement was high on sexism and received the flak on social media. In series of tweets, people slammed it because of its content.
It starts with, “A Mysore-based bachelor industrialist having own international export businesses, with rig and Atharva Vedic background of warrior caste (Kshatriya), presently earning eight-figure (salary), 37 years of age looking for an attractive bride with high aspiration and below 26 years of age strictly.”
However, the last few lines caught everybody’s attention. It reads, “She should be a non-smoker, non-feminist, good cook and never been married before or having any kid. Caste, Creed, Religion and Nationality, no bar. No dowry required.”
As soon as the picture of the ad went viral on social media, people started slamming the industrialist.
Check out how Twitterati reacted:
If reports are to be believed, a woman who responded to the ad, received rape and murder threat.
This is heartbreaking to see that when the world is developing, there are still some people who have the orthodox mindset.
