Robert Downey Jr will be coming back to along with co-star Jude Law to bring alive the beloved characters of Sherlock Holmes and Dr.Watson. The last sequel to be released was A Game of Shadows in 2011 and now Warner Bros and Village Roadshow has confirmed that the movie will be released on Christmas in 2020.

This movie has been in the pipeline and its a relief for the fans to know that the movie will be released in 2020, 9 years after the second movie.

Whether Guy Ritchie will be directing this movie has not been confirmed. He is currently working Disney’s Aladdin and there have been reports that he will be doing another gangster flick with Toff Guys. Chris Brancato has written the script, he is also the man behind the popular Netflix series Narcos.

Rober Downey Jr had said that the busy schedules of Jude Law, Guy Ritchie and himself had caused delays in the 2011 sequel A Game of Shadows.

Robert Downey Jr was last seen as the beloved character of Iron Man in the Avengers: Infinity War movie which has broken box office records.

Downey will be seen next in The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle playing Doctor Dolittle and Law will be seen playing a young Albus Dumbledore in the Fantastic Beasts sequel, The Crimes of Grindelwald which will release in November this year.
