Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor is all set to take the stage in the seventh VIVO IPL 2017 opening ceremony held at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Shah Rukh Khan’s co-owned IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) kicks off their home opening match fixture on April 13 against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). After the dazzling performances by Malaika Arora Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput in the last opening ceremony of the tenth edition of Indian Premier League, Half Girlfriend actress Shraddha Kapoor hopes to shine in front of Kolkata crowd before the match starts at 8.00 IST. Shraddha Kapoor and singer Monali Thakur fans can watch the glittering performance online with live streaming available on Hotstar. Kolkata Knight Riders led by Gautam Gambhir have played two matches so far in the ongoing season of IPL, winning against Gujarat Lions (GL) and losing to Mumbai Indians (MI). The third match against in-form KXIP side led by Glenn Maxwell will prove to be a tough nut to crack for Gautam’s men and hence the home crowd support might come in handy. The KKR boys will also look forward to exciting motivation boosting performance from Bollywood starlet Shraddha Kapoor in their IPL opening ceremony.

The program of seventh IPL 2017 opening ceremony will be a fusion of Bengal’s traditional chhau dance and Punjab’s bhangra. The 19-minute opening ceremony will take place before the match and commence with a performance by Shillong Chamber Choir. The chhau dancers will introduce the KKR team, while KXIP will make an entry with the bhangra dance troupe in the third segment of the opening ceremony.

National Award winning singer Monali Thakur will also perform during the ceremony. In the last segment, one-minute AV will display the two- time IPL champion team Kolkata’s journey from 2008 while Shraddha Kapoor’s six-minute performance will mark the conclusion of the opening ceremony. This is the first time that there are eight opening ceremonies taking place across eight venues.
