Swami Om gets anticipatory bail in molestation case! Read deets here

Bigg Boss 10 contestant Swami Om is back in the news for all wrong reasons and has been granted anticipatory bail by Delhi court today. The self-proclaimed godman Swami Om was accused of molesting and threatening a woman. The lady filed a complaint against Swami and Santosh Anand at the Indraprastha Estate police station in Central Delhi for abusive behaviour and committing objectionable acts. The woman also complained saying that the accused even tore her clothes on February 7.

The FIR further read that she urged them to leave her, but instead, Om and Anand dragged her into their room and tried to rape her. The incident took place at Rajghat area. The FIR further read that they even threatened her that they would not spare her and will even ruin her life like they ruined her husband’s life.

“Acting on the complaint, a case under section 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of IPC has been registered against Swami Om and his associate. The victim will record her statement on Monday before the magistrate. Police will take necessary action against the accused,” said a senior police officer. The application was listed for hearing on Friday in front of the individual judge, Hemani Malhotra.

On Tuesday, Special Judge Sanjay Garg allowed the plea of Swami and asked them to furnish a personal bond of Rs 25,000. On May 5, 2017, Swami’s co-accused Swami Santosh Anand was granted anticipatory bail by the Delhi High Court. “There are stated to be four cases pending against the applicant (Swami Om), but no one falls under the category of sexual abuse. In view of these circumstances, this applicant deserves parity with co-accused Santosh Anand who is lying admitted to anticipatory bail by the High Court,” the judge said.

Swami’s counsel A.P. Singh defended his client and told the court that he was falsely implicated into the case. He further even said that if the court would grant Swami anticipatory bail, then his client would not misuse his liberty. This was the second time when Om filed an application in court. The court dismissed the first plea for seeking anticipatory bail wherein the allegations against Om were serious and needed proper investigation. Their plea alleged that the woman had trespassed into Anand’s ashram along with police officials.

Om even tried to prove that on the day the unfortunate incident took place, he spent his entire day in different offices of Delhi Police seeking security. He even said that the police officials harassed him and further clarified that he has no links with co-accused Swami Santosh Anand. Om has always managed to turn heads with his weird behaviour and has irked almost everyone with his attention seeking acts. What do you guys think about this? Stay tuned for more updates on Om Swami.
