How many of you understand how to calculate your Income Tax or for that matter how to even fill up your Investment Declaration form at the beginning of the year so that your salary does not get cut every month? Okay let’s ask a simple question do you know what Form 16 does and why is it important? No, then you’re not alone in this dilemma. Almost all of us are at the mercies of our CAs and account executives in offices. Income tax, Mutual Funds, SIPs, NPS and what not are all jargon for most of us. At the end we are at the mercies of our office account executives and some knowledgeable friend who would take pity and calculate our investments for the year. Now Being Indian has come up with a very apt video that expresses our ignorance when it comes to calculating our taxes and has based it on Aamir Khan‘s Taare Zameen Par.

Being Indian shared this video yesterday on their Facebook page that talks about investment and income tax. The video is based on the narrative style of Aamir Khan that he used to reach out to Darsheel Safary’s dyslexic character in their movie Taare Zameen Par. The video is hilarious and nicely covers all our dilemmas and doubts regarding our tax woes. The protagonist is shown as not understanding a word when the other actors start throwing acronyms and tax saving schemes at him. He is shown gaping open mouthed and the background music employed explains his doubts. The video was shared with the caption, “If you believe you’re not made for this TAX burdened world, this one’s for you! Kho na jaaye ye… Salary Zameen par Tare Zamee Par // Aamir Khan.” Jalebi boy Parzaan Dastur is back onscreen with a heart-warming video for Being Indian!

The video has gone viral and has amassed around 828,000 views on their Facebook page, with 8235 shares and around 13000 Facebook reactions. The video has a funny disclaimer at the end which reads, “Taxation is subject to market risks, please contact your nearest Gujarati friend before investing.”
