Eid is a month’s away, and so is the next Salman Khan blockbuster – Tubelight! Declaring a yet-not-released movie as a blockbuster is not an exaggeration because history has proven that the combination of Salman Khan and Eid is a sure-shot box office success. The Tubelight trailer video dropped on May 25, 2017, and it looks like another memorable offering from winning actor-director duo Salman Khan and Kabir Khan. The film set in the background of 1962 Sino-Indian War presents the 51-year-old Bollywood superstar actor as a simpleton, but it is his real-life brother and actor Sohail Khan who packs a punch in the trailer. Despite Tubelight officially based on 2015 film Little Boy, director Kabir Khan is successful in holding our attention. Beneath the peppy feel of Tubelight trailer, fans are intrigued to know its gripping story. Ahead of the film’s release on June 25, 2017, here’s a look at few things we came to know about the Tubelight story as well as some interesting predictions.
1. They are Brothers
Salman Khan and Sohail Khan are all set to translate their real-life brotherly love on the silver screen. We have seen them in several Bollywood films such as God Tussi Great Ho, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya? Main Aurr Mrs Khanna and Heroes. Most of their collaboration on celluloid has been forgettable flicks but Kabir Khan is ready to turn it around with Tubelight. The Khan brothers’ camaraderie is adorable and has struck a chord with the fans.
2. Salman-Sohail’s Names in Tubelight
Salman Khan is Lakshman Singh Bisht though we hear everyone around him address as ‘Tubelight’. Why? Because, our golden-hearted hero is innocent, sweet, timid with a dose of adorable awkwardness – making people think of him as a dim-witted. But there is his no-nonsense brother, Bharat, essayed by Sohal Khan who completely believes in him. While Salman refers his brother as ‘Partner’, Sohail call him ‘Kaptan (Captain)’. We have some interesting name-calling between the two of them.
3. Sohail goes missing during Indo-Sino War
The film is set in the backdrop of India-China War of 1962. The Tubelight trailer opens with the head of Indian army asking young men of a village to join in fighting off the rushing enemies at the border. While the happy-go-lucky and super faint-hearted Salman is only interested in his tomfoolery, on the contrary Sohail is the hot-shot responsible man turned soldier who goes on the war. From the trailer, we come to know he has been badly hurt and has gone missing during the Indo-Sino war.
4. Tubelight is indirectly proportional to Bajrangi Bhaijaan
Seeing Salman Khan as Lakshman Singh Bisht in Tubelight will give you a nostalgic rush from his 2015 blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan where he played Pawan Kumar Chaturvedi. Though Pawan was a muscle-flexing courageous man who took the risk of taking a young, mute girl to her parents across the border to Pakistan in BB, he was also a big guy with golden heart. In Tubelight, Salman instead of going to another country but will use his ‘special powers’ to force his lost, probably captured brother return homeland.
5. Martin Rey and Zhu Zhu are Salman Khan’s aides
Now you must have noticed the little boy and a gorgeous Chinese actress in the film’s teaser and trailer. The cute young fella is Matin Rey while the leading lady is Zhu Zhu. As we know the film is based on fantasy-drama Little Boy and Salman Khan boasts of a ‘special power’ called ‘hope’ that has the ability to even move a mountain, he is most likely to get his brother back. But Kabir Khan instead taking the direct route has chosen to introduce Martin and Zhu as critical characters who will help Salman in his mission.
6. Sohail Khan to be alive as prisoner of war
Salman Khan is literally the Santa Claus of Bollywood. Do not expect a sad, tearful ending from a Salman Khan film. Hence, in all likelihood, Sohail Khan will be back to his brother in the most dramatic and memorable reunion. Bharat would be alive much to the contrary of everyone’s claims and would be living as a prisoner of war and in the end would be back on Indian soil.

All said and done, the biggest climax of Salman Khan and Kabir Khan collaboration would bring the revival of Sohail Khan’s career as an actor. Salman Khan finally manages to save Sohail Khan’s career by giving a 600-crore plus box office collection against his name! With Salman, the King of Box Office, anything and everything is possible – do not be surprised if Tubelight does a business surpassing SS Rajamouli’s Bahubali 2 or Aamir Khan’s Dangal.
