When it comes to US President Donald Trump, goof-ups, typos and controversial remarks cannot be far behind. From his tweets to his policies, almost everything gets trolled online. And understandably so. Consider the recent glaring typo in the tickets for Trump’s maiden State of the Union address. Instead of ‘State of the Union’, people were invited to the ‘State of the Uniom’! The typing error was on the ticket meant for members of Congress and guests invited to Tuesday’s address. The surprised guests couldn’t stop themselves from sharing the post on social media. Though it wasn’t Trump’s fault, the invite with the typo went viral quickly, and the Twitterati responded with hilarious tweets.

The State of the Union Address is an annual message presented by the President of the United States to a joint session of the United States Congress. This would be Donald Trump’s first State of the Union Address. “Address to Congress on the State of the Uniom,” read the ticket that was sent to all the invitees. It was initially brought to the notice of the Twitterati by Raul M Grijalva, a Democrat politician who posted a photo of his ticket with the embarrassing mistake. “Just received my ticket for the State of the Union. Looks like @BetsyDeVosEd was in charge of spell checking… #SOTUniom,” the tweet said, taking a dig at Trump’s Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos. This typo, however, didn’t come from Trump. The office of the Sergeant at Arms of the US House of Representatives, that oversees the printing of the invites, acknowledged the printing mistake.

It remains unclear how many tickets to the address had the typographical error. The error was spotted and rectified immediately, and the office is redistributing the tickets, said a spokesperson to news agency AFP. Though this wasn’t Trump’s fault, there have been several instances in the past where trump has regaled the netizens with his comical typos. From “unpresidented” and “honered” to “covfefe”, Trump has coined many words that have gon on to acquire legendary status!
