‘Kuttanadan Punjayile’ is an age old traditional song, which serenades the breathtaking beauty of Kerala. It can be heard during festive occasion a la Onam and Vishu, or men in unison crooning the song during boat races, called ‘Vallamkali’. It is famous across the bars in the state as well, where tipsy people break into the number and it never fails to see other participants, most of them strangers sing along. Even for the non-resident Malayalis are very familiar with this track.
Internet sensation Vidya, who is famous for he remix versions of famous tracks is back and this time, she teams up with world renowned musician Shankar Tucker. Giving them company is Jomy George with Kerala drums, called ‘Chenda’. There are Mohiniyattam dancers who dance alongside the singer.
