Having played some of the most outstanding and unconventional roles, Vidya Balan has always been controversy’s favourite child. Known for her versatility and unabashedness, The Dirty Picture actress was recently interviewed on Zee Café’s popular chat show Look Who’s Talking With Niranjan Iyengar.
The show started off with Niranjan describing Vidya as ‘someone who has met success on her own terms.’ On the show, Vidya talked about how she loved dancing to Madhuri Dixit’s popular foot-tapping number ‘Ek Do Teen’ from Tezaab while she was only 11-years old.
On being asked about the criticism about her weight and fashion sense she has received over the years, Vidya stated that “For a very long time, I was constantly putting on and losing weight for movies until “The Dirty Picture” happened. That was the moment I decided I didn’t care anymore and I decided to let my roles dictate who I am. It doesn’t matter what I wear or how much I weigh.”
She openly talked about how she dealt with trying times, how she, coming from a non-filmy background, managed to be one of the most talented actresses of the film industry. Throughout the episode, Vidya looked extremely comfortable in her own skin. Take a look at the video below to watch the entire episode!
