After India’s win in the fourth One-Day International (ODI) at Chennai, Captain MS Dhoni did something that makes him a true leader. A small gesture from Dhoni, but certainly shows how good team man he is. Dhoni gave the stump to Kohli as it was his knock that helped India post a formidable total of 299 on board. An eventually level the series.
Kohli slammed 138 off 140 balls, his career’s 23rd ODI ton, which included six fours and five sixes. During his stay at the crease the right-handed batsman suffered from cramps but continued to bat despite being in pain. Kohli, who came out to bat in the fifth over at fall of Rohit Sharma’s wicket, lasted till penultimate over of Indian innings. With cramps all over his body, Kohli did not take the field in the second innings. But captain cool recognised the importance of Kohli’s knock and took the stump for him. So that Kohli can keep it as a souvenir. Indeed leading by example! Check out the video below-
