
Japanese automaker Nissan has announced a brand new Special Edition model of its beloved performance-oriented GT-R. It' called 2014 Nissan GT-R Midnight Opal Special Edition and derives it names from yes, the Midnight Opal colour scheme applied to its exterior. The model will be limited to 100 units worldwide, out of which 50 will be soaked up by the United States.

The hand applied paint, which apparently has a two-tone effect and changes its hue depending on light conditions and viewing angle – is not the only thing to look out in the SE model. Nissan has included a dry carbon fiber rear spoiler that aids downforce and RAYS forged aluminum wheels with a Hyper Titanium finish that helps in reducing unsprung mass. A numbered plaque, finished in gold has also been added to the engine bay to emphasize the car's exclusivity.

The 2014 Nissan GT-R 'Midnight Opal' Special Edition is scheduled to go on sale in September and when it does it will be accompanied with a price tag reading, 1,05,590 U.S dollars.
