Bangalore – Aprilia has officially launched its highly anticipated Tuono 457 motorcycle in India. The launch event, held in Bangalore, featured Bollywood star and Aprilia India brand ambassador John Abraham alongside Diego Graffi, Chairman and MD of Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd.
The Tuono 457, built on the 457 platform, showcases a fresh design and promises an exhilarating riding experience. Sporting an aluminum frame, a twin-cylinder engine, and sophisticated electronics, Aprilia aims to set a new benchmark in its class. The bike is priced at INR 3,95,000 (ex-showroom, Maharashtra) and comes in Piranha Red and Puma Grey.
Performance and Features:
The Tuono 457 is powered by a 457cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine producing 47.6 hp at 9,400 rpm and 43.5 Nm of torque at 6,700 rpm. With a dry weight of just 159 kg, the bike boasts an impressive power-to-weight ratio. Key features include an electronic ride-by-wire throttle, three riding modes (ECO, SPORT, and RAIN), and three-level adjustable traction control. Bosch two-channel ABS with dual mapping is standard, and the Aprilia Quick Shift (AQS) system is available as an optional extra.
Design and Styling:
The Tuono 457’s aggressive naked bike styling includes a new LED headlight cluster reminiscent of the Tuono 1000 R. The wide handlebar and sculpted fuel tank contribute to a dynamic riding position, while the under-engine exhaust enhances the bike’s clean lines. The 800 mm seat height caters to a wide range of riders, and a single-seat tailpiece is available as an option.
Chassis and Suspension:
The CAE-optimized aluminum frame provides rigidity and lightness. The asymmetrical steel swingarm works in conjunction with 41 mm front forks and a rear shock, both of which are preload adjustable. Braking is handled by a 320 mm front disc with a radial-mounted ByBre caliper and a 220 mm rear disc.
Technology and Connectivity:
The Tuono 457 features a 5-inch TFT display and backlit handlebar controls. Bluetooth connectivity is supported via the Aprilia India app, offering navigation and infotainment integration.
Availability and Booking:
Bookings are now open at Aprilia India website for INR 10,000. Test rides and deliveries will commence in March 2025 at select Aprilia India dealerships.
Warranty and After-Sales:
Aprilia offers a three-year warranty, three complimentary services, and roadside assistance. A range of accessories, including a quick shifter, USB socket, helmet lock, and bike cover, will be available.
The Tuono 457 is poised to make a significant impact on the Indian naked motorcycle market with its blend of performance, design, and technology.
