Last week, the Indian two-wheeler industry brought in a very special motorcycle into its midst: the Bajaj Dominar 400. The bike has been long in the waiting, ever since it was introduced in the 2014 Auto Expo as a concept, then under the Pulsar brand. Since then, the Dominar has gone through a long, long ride. It marks a brand new and incredibly exciting chapter for Bajaj now, and a lot of motorcyclists cannot wait to get their hands on a Dominar. Unfortunately, with an online booking process and deliveries to only start in 2017, most of them would have to only be satisfied with quick and unofficial rides near their dealerships and wait until the real rides begin.
But that wait has just been cut short, with Bajaj Auto releasing a video on its Dominar 400 YouTube channel that teases a Night Test Ride at select dealerships tonight on 21 December 2016. The Night Test Ride event, which will take place at certain Bajaj dealerships, comes as a very welcome surprise, and a lot of people will likely be rushing to their dealerships to get into the ride. It is certainly an unprecedented move for an Indian automaker, or even an international two-wheeler maker in India. Also Read: Bajaj Dominar 400 video review, top speed and first impressions
The night theme is not a surprise though, since this has been a recurring one right from the Dominar 400 s launch in Delhi on 15 December. The event saw the Dominar 400 unveiled in the midst of a dimly lit stage, followed by catholic choir music. Throughout the event, there were references made to how the Dominar 400 will dominate the night , largely with the help of its industry-first full LED headlights that stay switched on all the time.

Will the Dominar 400 be able to actually dominate the night? Night rides, especially in India, can be notoriously difficult to do. There are countless dangers on the roads even when the sun is shining bright, and things only get more dangerous in the cover of night. Apart from vehicles and trucks that can come from nowhere and turn anywhere at any point, there are also animals and people who drift onto the road. The Night Test Ride today will hopefully give riders a true sense of how the Dominar 400 performs in such tough conditions. It will also give them a chance to test out the power cruiser in poor riding conditions. With the Dominar 400 billed to be a tourer, tonight will be an important night for the bike.
