India has been one of the most important markets for BMW and the company has been using it as a major testing ground for its upcoming luxury vehicles. This is mainly because of the diverse range of Indian conditions that helps BMW cars to adapt comfortably to most of the conditions thrown at it in other countries. Supposedly it is the same reason why the upcoming flagship 7 Series will be tested in India even before its global launch, which is slated to happen this year.
Coming to the cars itself, the new 3 Series facelifts imported to India are the 320i and 320d models. The petrol variant 320i is powered by a 1998 cc 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine that churns out 183.5 PS of power and 290 Nm of torque. As for the diesel variant the 320d comes with a 1995 cc, a 4-cylinder TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder diesel engine that churns out 196.2 PS of power and 350 Nm of peak torque. The new BMW 3-Series facelift also gets some new interior and is equipped with a brand new navigation system, full-colour Heads-Up Display and LTE mobile technology.
As for the upcoming flagship sedan BMW imported the the 730Ld that packs a 3.0-litre V6, twin-turbo diesel engine that produces 258 HP and 560 Nm of torque. The luxury sedan comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission. On feature front the new upcoming 7 series is expected to receive new Intelligent Adaptive LED headlights, M-Sport Package for the exterior, new and lighter alloy rims that range from 17 to 20-inches, panoramic sunroof, remote-controlled parking, new iDrive Touch Display infotainment system and more.
